Some Republicans pushing Rod Grams to run against Norm Coleman

This is great watching Republicans eat their young. Claiming that Norm isn't conservative enough, some of their more delusional wingnuts are hoping Rod Grams enters the race to challenge him. Or they're threatening to start a "Draft the Rod" campaign. Either way, more power to 'em!

Grams, a blow-dried former tv anchor and two-time one-termer, opens a campaign account every time he needs a paycheck. The guy has more baggage than Smarte Carte. Let him nip at Norm's heels all the way to the state convention. Or better yet, run in a primary. Is there any way we can help, Rod?

1. I thought ol' Rod was dead.....
My bad. Maybe they should dig up Eisenhower, he'd have a better chance. Norman is finished...

7. Rod's mom was so cute
not.

Remember that ad she did that ended with her saying "Mark Dayton - Uff da!" It inspired my mother to volunteer to do an ad for Dayton in which she'd go after the Irish Catholic vote by ending it saying "Rod Grams - Jesus, Mary & Joseph!"

8. I remember...
I was disgusted by the Rod Grams' mom ads.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph is right!

9. Why don't they recall Dave Durenberger from his condo?
Or John Grunseth from the hot tub?

10. There's no place for somebody like Durenberger in the MN GOP now
He was a little bit before my time, but my understanding is that Durenberger was a fairly reasonable guy. I could be mistaken.

11. This is astro-turf trickery
It is an effort to recondition Coleman as being some kind of moderate. Coleman is nothing but a salesman, the Draft Rod effort is merely a ploy.
