I didn't want this to get lost in the original thread

Has it been decided that it will be at the SD60 picnic in Linden Hills?

2. Obviously, I'm for the meeting close to my place
and we could even go over to my place afterwards and watch some of my political DVDs. (I have "The Hunting of the President" and some new John Pilger documentaries that I ordered from the UK and can play on my region-free player.) Or we could watch some of my non-political videos.

Meet at the picnic and adjourn to LL's aftewards? I'll provide beer, ice tea, and seltzer.

13. At last year's picnic
they sold food for reasonable prices. I think. I know I had hot dogs and root beer, but I can't remember whether I paid anything for them or how much.

16. I know at some Senate District picnics, you pay to attend the event
and the food is included. I haven't been to a picnic where the ticket price was more than $10.00

30. Sorry about that jc
I just thought it would be nice to be around a load of DFLers. Plus, the speaker will be there, Al Franken might be there, and Keith Ellison will be there.

No need to bring anything, unless you want to bring some contraband alcohol. ;)

I looked into that and by now, I wont get there until around 3pm.

I am very frustrated with my car issue, and probably would not be very fun company anyway.

I hope you all have fun.

Edit: coming from st paul there is at least a 1 hour ride on the 21 bus to the uptown station, or a ride on the 21 to downtown st paul, connect to the 94 to downtown minneapolis and then the 6.

Either way, around 3 is when I would be getting there.

37. Report on the SD60 Picnic
I met up with dflprincess, and we had a surprise guest appearance by GAspnes, who has been busy with family matters and his new job.

I looked around for other people, and it wasn't until the middle of one of the speeches that I saw someone with a Mohawk and kids leaving the area. I fear that this means that we missed ftbc and his bf. :-(

Anyway, it was a beautiful day, the food was good, the speeches solid, and the performance by the drumline from a city youth group outstanding.

43. The picnic was a great idea
it was a beautiful day and it was way easier to get to and find a place to park (I'm a parallel parking impaired suburbanite). We could probably find DFL picnics to meet at for the rest of the summer. Next time we just need to have a way to identify each other.
