MINNEAPOLIS - Authorities have released the causes of death for a Minneapolis woman and her son who were found brutally murdered in their home.

Thirty-six-year-old Katricia Daniels and her 10-year-old son, Robert Shephard, were found dead in their south Minneapolis home Thursday.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner says Sunday that Daniels died of multiple sharp force injuries. Neighbors say her boyfriend came home to find her with severe lacerations.

Officials say the boy died from complex homicidal violence.

Two 17-year-old boys are in custody in the killings.
