Patty Wetterling must be winning, judging by the nasty ads
against her. Even my spouse, who does not follow local politics that closely - we moved here two years ago - is wondering "why are they so nasty to her?"

2. I'm so glad she's running as a Democrat, because. . .
. . . Because after what she's been through, and given the name recognition, she could win for either party. Few democrats would have the guts to go negative against her like Kennedy.

3. No kidding!
Just saw a new one this morning - attacking her for saying "I have no platform" earlier this year, and for not taking a position on the * tax cuts back in July.

I can't find the quote in context, but I seem to recall the "no platform" thing was concerning her openmindedness and devotion to family issues, rather than being tied to any political platform.

And of course they wrap up by mentioning the lame MoveOn and some other group's donations to her campaign, insinuating that those groups' most extreme position is what Patty must embrace too.

Kennedy's attacks are getting harsher as election day nears. That encourages me!

4. John Walsh's endorsement is HUGE.
He's a Republican, and America's Most Wanted is an extremely popular show. Pretty tough for the Rethuglicans to dis Walsh and get away with it.

9. That makes sense then.
Of course that wouldn't stop Kennedy from attacking her.

7. ON MPR yesterday or Tuesday
they had Amy Klobuchar and a republican talking about different races. When asked about whether there was a chance of any of the incumbents losing their seats, both pundits responded that the Wetterling/Kennedy race was one. Both mentioned Patti's name recognition.

10. I'm still waiting for the ad
from Kennedy that says Jacob's abduction was staged to set up Patty for her run for Congress years later. I don't put anything past these guys. The way they slimed Cleland, McCain, and Kerry it's obvious they will stop at nothing. But trying to go negative on Patty will backfire on them big time IHMO.

11. Some nasty things are going around
My cousin lives up near St. Joseph and he did say the old rumor about Patty's husband having something to do with Jacob's disappearence(which was 15 years ago today) has resurfaced. As my cousin said, "No sane person is paying attention."

12. Here's why they're so nasty to her...
They're nasty to her because she's opposition who isn't a career politician. They know she will get votes because she's a person, not a shill.

Kennedy can poke his ballot where the sun don't shine.

I also got polled today; some questions (whose response choices threw me for a loop so I repeated the question and answer to verify that's what they meant) were along the slant of wussy Kennedy's vicious, sick attacks.
