Did Norm Coleman Green-Screen His Wife into his Video?
Edited on Fri Jun-20-08 09:21 PM by Avidor
Controversy here:

http://www.mnblue.com/laurie+coleman+edited+into+her+husbands+ad

Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN) released a campaign video without a press conference or press release. Just an email to his supporters. The really bizarre part of this is that his wife, Laurie, looks like she was filmed in California then edited into the ad. What does this say about their marriage?

I don't know about the greenscreen stuff... but what is going on in the room behind Laurie Coleman's head? It changes from a tree to what looks like a streetlight or bare lightbulbs.... weird...

1. The odd stuff around her head is the chandelier in the back room.
Edited on Sat Jun-21-08 12:26 AM by Hong Kong Cavalier
The filming angle switches.
But the lighting on Laurie doesn't match ol'Normie. He's highlighted from the back, and she's got full illumination.
That kind of illumination even for filming would reflect off of the back of the kitchen if she was actually in the kitchen.

She's not there.

What disgusts me about this ad is it's an outright lie. They have no family life such as that: she lives in Hollywood, he lives in DC, and their kids live with his grandparents.
Unfortunately, I do believe that there are almost enough stupid people in Minnesota who'll believe this pedantic crap.

Zipper likes the ladies, 'specially if they're not his wife. He's a well-known womanizer in St. Paul.

6. That's what I meant--Norm's own zipper seems to be stuck in the open position
Anyone else notice the strategic cut to a closeup of the wedding ring on Laurie's finger. You can be sure this ad is the first in an attempt to shore up Norm's relationship with his wife--his "unconventional marriage," as local wingnut loudmouth Mitch Berg called it.

Supporters of the original carpetbagger accuse his opponent of carpetbagging. Ol' Normie not only changed physical locations to run, he changed parties! He's a double-bagger!

10. Plus he made this commercial when there was snow on the ground
WTF is that all about? He has been planning this commercial for years probably. He knows ahead of time what he is being accused of then makes a commercial about it way in advance so he can try and nip it in the bud rather than change. What a fraud....

Oh and it looks very much like she is green screened.

18. Norm and his alleged wife
Ok, I used to feel sorry for Laurie Coleman, what with her spouse messing around on her with who knows how many women. I wondered, has she no self respect? But then I figured it out: she's using his position to jump start her nonexistent career as a "model/actress." And he's not the only sleaze in his alleged marriage: Laurie Coleman posed for a skanky photo in lingerie next to a messed up bed. I can't believe the party of "family values" lets these 2 anywhere near it. Hypocrisy reigns in the GOP.

I mean, you see Laurie Coleman everywhere now! Fashion mag covers, blockbuster movies, the list of fringe benefits being married to ol' Tuna Sandwich is endless. :sarcasm:

19. Let's fix the Joe Bowler ads
Where does Norm Coleman get off criticizing Al Franken for writing "sleazy porn" decades ago? Norm LIVES sleazy porn NOW.
I think Al Franken should put out an ad using Normy's "Joe Bowler" guys where they say, "We like Norm Coleman. He cheats on his wife just like we do!"

25. If you listen closely to the ad,
after slamming Franken for writing "porn" and telling sexist jokes - they all decide they're qualified to run for senate too. So, in other words these guys all like porn and sexist jokes too?

As most the women I know find this ad obnoxious, I had decided that the target demographic for this ad was barely literate, unattractive middle aged males, whose wives had probably married them only because they got pregnant in high school (okay, I read that in) who like to look at the pictures in "Playboy", but can't figure out the articles or the jokes and are afraid of "uppity" women so they tell sexist jokes. - But then I saw the ad on "Lifetime". Of course, that could just be another sign of how Normie just doesn't get it.

normy thinks all women are bimbos.
he was in a nightclub in minneapolis with some of his ladies of the evening. a Black server walked by and he yelled, "come back baby, you're giving me jungle fever." the nightclub is called Bellanotte.

41. It seems like it shouldn't be too hard to verify whether or not...
their children live with them. As an "outsider," I have observed that St. Paul is basically a small town. My sense is that everyone knows everyone else (and their business). It's not unusual to see a politician or local celeb (Keillor) in a St. Paul restaurant.

Someone has to know if the kids live with their grandparents or with Norm or Laurie. I've never heard of anyone seeing them on a family outing.

Really, the whole situation sounds sad and I would be loathe to "exploit" it, if it wasn't for Norm's "family values" hypocrisy.
