Have you seen a McCain TV ad in MN this month? An Obama TV ad? |
|
I saw that John McCain's ad which claims he stood up to Bush on global warming is playing on a broadcast TV station.
I haven't seen any Obama TV ads here since February.

1. MN is not on Obama's early ad schedule. |
|
I believe he's now running one 60 sec. general intro ad in about 17 or 18 battleground states - which excludes us.
I haven't seen any McCain ads but I don't watch much TV.

3. Also given the last poll, he has a pretty big lead |
|
So as you say, funds will be spent elsewhere to start with follow-up ads here.

Poll averages exceed 10% for Obama. Here's a link: MN poll results are down on the right side. http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/

7. How can you not see one of McCain's ads? |
|
They were playing every half hour. Does anyone know what McCain is talking about when he references standing up to Bush on global warming? I keep hearing him say that but I haven't seen any proof of it.

8. Have seen many McCain ads |
|
about how no one loves a war, about how his grandfather and father fought, about his capturing in Vietnam.
I thought it was impressive not just because it talked about his military background, but about his roots of several generations fighting for our country implying without spelling the contrast with Obama, who came from nowhere with a father who just came on our shores to study and while here, impregnated a young girl and then left.
I think that such an ad can be very effective in the Midwest, where roots and family ties are important, as opposed to, say, California or Oregon where, on occasion, you see a bumper sticker: Native Californian or Native Oregonian.
I have not seen a single Obama ad and now, that we are no longer a "battle ground state," (at least, for now) we probably will not.
