Greet Sen. McCain Friday July 11th at 10:00am (come early)
Edited on Thu Jul-10-08 11:27 PM by annm4peace
HUDSON, Wis. (AP) - Sen. John McCain plans a campaign stop in western Wisconsin Friday in his campaign for the presidency.

According to information provided to local supporters, the Republican senator from Arizona will be accompanied by his wife Cindy when he holds a "women only" town hall session at a business in Hudson's St. Croix Business Park.

Party officials say the focus will be on women in business and the economic challenges confronting them.

The meeting is scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday.

The event is open to 500 women. Those interested in attending must contact Nancy Nasvik, co-chairman of the St. Croix County Republicans by 3 p.m. Tuesday with their name address or phone number at (715) 386-2928 or via email nancynasvik@pressenter.com.

PROTEST THIS FAKE TOWN MEETING!

Presidential candidate, John McCain is holding another so called town meeting early Friday morning, July 11 at J and L Steel Erections, 2365 Willis Miller Drive, Hudson, Wisconsin. As has been the case in recent so called town meetings held by Senator McCain, the general public is not invited. This one is for women, only, who have called or emailed Nancy Nasvick, co-chariman of the St. Croix County Republicans by 3 PM Tuesday (now past) with their name, address or phone number. The meeting is limited to 500 people. This is another in a string of fake town meetings designed to have the appearance of democracy while ensuring that McCain doesn’t have to hear from people who are enthusiastically opposed to his ideas. Wouldn’t it be nice if a number of uninvited people would show up at the meeting, especially women against the policy of military madness that McCain is pledged to continue in Iraq. Doors open for McCain’s fake town hall meeting at 8:30 AM. That would be the time for the people’s real live meeting outside to also begin. I will be there. Please join me.

Town hall meetings have been a beautiful form of direct democracy, from the earliest days of our country. What went on at the Landmark Center was a travesty. John McCain needs to hear not just from his supporters and from undecided voters. He needs to hear from people who have serious points of disagreement with him. For example, people should have the opportunity to challenge his apparent determination to continue with the war crime of war in Iraq. If we do not stand up for democracy, we will lose it.
