How is this bailout/bank failure effecting Minnesota? I have a map that shows the foreclosures and we in Minnesota are not as severely effect as places like California and Florida. What is happening to the banks here and to agencies like Minnesota Housing Finance Agency? I know that Fannie Mae is involved in MHFA to some extent but I have not read any analysis of what this all means to our local branches. What is going on?

1. Not foreclosures as stand alone |

though Obama and other Democrats want to include this.
But it will affect all of us in terms of more liquidity for banks to make loans - to business and individuals including mortgage.
It will affect all of us who are dependent on the health of the stock market: through our pensions, our retirement savings, the ability of insurance companies to pay for claims, tax revenue..
As much as many do not support this bailout as a "fascist tool" we are in this together.
What we do need to assure, besides cutting golden parachutes and bonuses, is to set tight regulations that will prevent this type of gambling in the future.
