Congressional Race Predictions!

OK, right off the bat there are only two seats that have a chance of changing, so pick 'em.

Kline vs. Daly
Kennedy (the prick) vs. Wetterling

I think Kline will survive, but Wetterling will kick Screech back to Tuesday Morning.

1. I was speaking to someone at Daly's campaign today

and she said the numbers in that race actually look better than the Wetterling race...I still say Screech's internal polls must look really bad or he wouldn't have gone on the attack against Wetterling

2. got an email from the Wetterling campaign yesterday - - -

One week from today is Election Day...and...it's Patty's 55th Birthday!!!!

Patty is in a tight race and the election could go either way at this point. Our latest poll had Patty and Mark tied at 44-44.

As you know, Patty's opponents have targeted her and have launched incredibly negative attack ads in an effort to defeat her. Thanks to your support last week we were able to raise enough money to put another ad on the air and counter the misinformation being spread about Patty.

We need to raise $55,000 by her birthday on November 2nd.

Please contribute today and help us push Patty over the top so that next November 2nd, we can celebrate Congresswoman Wetterling's birthday.

incensed and we don't even live in the precinct!

They're (the fundraising team for Patty) are doing this with a birthday theme and going to have a graphic cake that gets lit up or something as donations roll in. Should be fun to see it go.

6. Dang, I hope Daly can pull it off.

I didn't think that race was within striking distance. What does that district encompass now, anyway? I know that the 6th is pretty damn conservative, but Patty has the firepower to overcome that disadvantage. She has run a great campaign.

8. Kline == Toast

I've heard from several people close to the Daly race that Theresa may well win this one. Due to the Wetterling/Kennedy race, this one does not have nearly the high profile, and it has been a real sleeper.

I drove down through "Kline Country" a few weeks back going to my in-laws. I saw ONE Kline sign the ENTIRE WAY. However, I saw SEVERAL Daly and Kerry/Edwards signs-- even on the big, sprawling farms near the highway.

To give you an exact area, we're talking rural Scott County, south of Burnsville toward Jordan/New Prague/Belle Plaine. This area used is very conservative Catholic (and subsequenly VERY anti-choice, too), and used to be a strong conservative stronghold back when it used to be in the old 1st CD.

Folks, I'm telling you, be prepared for a VERY close race in the 2nd, with a Daly victory not out of the question.
