Channel 5 just helped us out in a big way! Embed has video of explosives
http://www.kstp.com/article/stories/S3723.html?cat=1

A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS crew in Iraq shortly after the fall of Saddam Hussein was in the area where tons of explosives disappeared.

The missing explosives are now an issue in the presidential debate. Democratic candidate John Kerry is accusing President Bush of not securing the site they allegedly disappeared from. President Bush says no one knows if the ammunition was taken before or after the fall of Baghdad on April 9, 2003 when coalition troops moved in to the area.

Using GPS technology and talking with members of the 101st Airborne 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS determined our crew embedded with them may have been on the southern edge of the Al Qaqaa installation, where that ammunition disappeared. Our crew was based just south of Al Qaqaa. On April 18, 2003 they drove two or three miles north into what is believed to be that area.

During that trip, members of the 101st Airborne Division showed the 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS crew bunker after bunker of material labelled explosives. Usually it took just the snap of a bolt cutter to get in and see the material identified by the 101st as detonation cords.
"We can stick it in those and make some good bombs." a soldier told our crew.

4. Dramatic photos...
...of warehoused explosives (or containers marked as such) just WAITING to be secured....and waiting....and waiting...

And once again the Bushies find out that not everybody keeps to their lackadaisical, "we'll deal with that when we get around to it" timetables, to the detriment of the safety of Americans here and abroad.

5. Rumsfeld said this is what a free society does - they're free to loot,
How many times have we heard Al Franken repeat Rumsfeld's statement, made right after Saddam's statue toppled?

All these guys (bush admin war profiteers) need to do prison time and make monetary reparations to our country, the coalition and Iraq.

"All these guys (bush admin war profiteers) need to do prison time and make monetary reparations to our country, the coalition and Iraq."

I pray for the day--especially the monetary reparations. Those shit head bastards need to understand how I feel. I'm only 29 and I take this fleecing of the taxpayers personally. I (and my children if I ever feel ready to have any) will be paying extra taxes for the rest of my life, long after they're all dead and burning in hell, because of their foolish, reckless, traitorous war, their monstrous deficit spending, their regressive upper-class tax cuts, and their thieving tax give-aways to the largest, most profitable corporations. (Individual entrepreneurs trying to grow their own businesses from the ground up be damned, I guess.)

If I had it in my heart to think it was possible, I'd say they are literally trying to destroy the government--no more public schools, no more courts, no more police or fire-fighters, no more city services like water and sewer, no more public anything. My mind can see it, but my heart does not believe it; such sociopathic schemes simply don't occur to me, which is why I have such a difficult time believing it is possible.

10. Oh, I think that it's entirely what they're up to
Google "Grover Norquist."

Just think, if our social infrastructure is destroyed, poor people will have no choice but to work as servants or contract labor for rich people, just like in the nineteenth century. I can almost envision some of those people thinking back to what their grandparents told them about being able to hire servants for $5 a week plus a cot in the attic.

15. Their grandparents hiring servants? My grandparents WERE servants
And thought they were fortunate to have the place they had.

I never ever want to go back to that.

7. Wow. Way go go KMSP.
This is such a chilling story. To think that these are the explosives that are killing our kids and all the bushies can do is lie lie lie. It makes me sick. MIchael Moore is correct, how will they ever trust us again.

13. credit where credit's due: KSTP, ABC channel, NOT KMSP, 'FOX9'
ch. 5 is owned by stanley hubbard, who also owns the top right-wing fluff radio station in the twin cities. but appaently he has at least a shred of integrity, unlike FOX, which probably would have buried the story if it came up and bit them on the ass.

Spread this far and wide, right away.

Let this be a final nail in the Bush administration's coffin.

(And I mean that in no way other than voting them out of office - it's a metaphor.)
