Did a transcript of Patrice Battaglia's fiasco on KSTP ever get posted?
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 09:59 PM by MnFats
apparently she made a total idiot of herself and even had the conservative hosts (Ron Rosenbaum and, i forget the other guy) scratching their heads and chuckling over how ill- and misinformed a candidate could be.

on edit: she is the GOP opponent thrown up against DFLer Betty McCollum, the St. Paul & suburban district held for years by the late Bruce Vento. It's a safe seat but apparently Ms. Battaglia made it much moreso.

1. I'm in Ohio, but I have to know-
what did she say and/or do? I love hearing about clueless, idiotic, repukes who make total fools of themselves in public!

2. she is a county commissioner running for congress...
...she is tremendously ill-informed.
she got on this right-wing (but not totally extreme) morning radio show and left the hosts flabbergasted with her ignorance of basic issues.
for example, she tried to tell them that biological agents are not weapons of mass destruction.
she had no answer at all for several questions....there were long periods of dead air as someone in the room tried to find her a party talking points memo.
she did so poorly that the hosts replayed some of the worst moments.
her GOP handlers gave the station some bullshit excuse like she had been up all night, so they let her come back the following morning and she dug herself into a worse hole.
it was obvious she had only studied the party line on a few issues and was able to give answers of a sentence or two on most questions, and most listeners got the impression she was simply reading prepared answers from a cheat sheet.
the hosts were again left scratching their heads about how someone so ignorant could be in a position to run for Congress...

4. My goodness! That is truly priceless!
I love the way she kept challenging Betty to a debate whenever the hosts asked her to explain the stupid answers she was giving.

5. Thankfully she's toast
I just saw the latest results, and McCollum has been called the winner with 59%. ex-Rep Bruce Vento's son Peter got 10% on the Independence ticket (probably due to name recognition), and Bataglia got 32%, according to CBS.

GO BETTY!!!!
