DNC Listening Tours Launches in Minnesota!

 In February the Democratic National Committee - the governing body that formulates the vision, determines the strategy for delivering our message, and sets the overall tone of the national Democratic Party - will be electing a new Chair to lead the Party. The Chair is responsible for communicating that vision and the collective values of the national Party.  Many of us have ideas about how we would like to be represented, and here is our opportunity to be heard.  In Minnesota we have six voting members of the DNC and in true Minnesota fashion they want to hear from the grassroots!

In an unprecedented event co-sponsored by the MN DFL and the MN Progressive Caucus, our DNC representatives will meet with everyday DFLers to find out where we want our party leadership to take us as we move forward.

Rick Stafford (sp?), past DFL Chair and one of our DNC delegates, was at the meeting where this idea was hatched, and supports it.

The Minnesota Progressive Caucus, and Rick, are working on getting Erlandson and everyone else who votes to participate.

Given that they have announced the first date, I think they have succeeded in getting the attention of the DFL.

5. Yes, it does!

I can't understand why more people aren't excited about this. All last week there threads all over DU asking if there was a way to effect the election of the DNC chair.

I kept posting, "Find out the DNC members for your state, start lobbying them!"

And lo and behold, the mountain comes to Minnesota. This is terrific! (Still hoping one of the 4 meetings might be up thisaway... :D )
