Brucato's PR firm served 3 BIZ PACs during election
prompting some to question whether that is ethical behavior for a news anchor.

Brucato firm's PAC ties prompt ethics question
Mark Brunswick, Star Tribune

When KSTP-TV's Cyndy Brucato was relaying election results at the anchor desk on Nov. 2, she may have had more than an ordinary journalistic interest in the outcomes of some local races.

Some candidates had been supported by political groups that were clients of a media relations and communications company Brucato owns with her husband.

Three of the five top-spending political action committees in the last election in Minnesota used the Edina firm Brucato and Halliday for print and broadcast advertising. The firm was paid at least $95,000 for its work with the PACs, according to records on file at the state's Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board.
