I wish I could go to D.C. but, the next best thing is to participate locally!

Come on down for the counter-inaugural:

Initiated by: Iraq Peace Action Coalition
Info: Anti-War Committee, Twin Cities Peace Campaign/Focus on Iraq, Veterans for Peace, Women Against Military Madness

Note: Wear an item of black clothing to express mourning for all that have lost their lives in the war in Iraq.

1. I see a problem with dates here:
Is the Mpls counter-inaugural Thurs., Jan 20th, Thurs., Jan 27th or Sunday, Jan 29th?

3. I thought we were supposed to wear white
which is a more international color of mourning. I got an email to that effect last week, I was planning to spread it around next week. I suppose, being Minnesotans, most of us have put all our white stuff in a box in the attic for now.

4. It suggests black on the flyer, but I'll also have some orange
and you know I will look like I'm celebrating Halloween.

5. Here's part of the email I got
http://www.unitedforpeace.org

UFPJ also encourages everyone to wear a white ribbon on January 20, no matter where you are or what you are doing. In many cultures, white is the traditional color of mourning. We will wear white to honor the tens of thousands of civilians and more than 1200 U.S. servicepeople who have died in Iraq. We also honor all of the people in our own communities and around the world who have died as a result of the Bush administration's policies.

Go to the website to list or learn about local protest activities on the 20th. This includes the "Turn your back on *" campaign.
