Gay hate near U of M
When I was on my way to work this morning I noticed that the 3 or Kerry Edwards sign holdouts on my neighborhood had their signs stolen during the night. Further more, a three block stretch of SE 8th St. near Hennepin Avenue had at least 30 cars with gay hate messages written on them, in the snow on the car windshields.
I would like to figure out who is responsible for this! During the summer we were occasionally plagued with people stealing Kerry yard signs, however last night's event is much more disturbing. Could this be a prank, or is this serious?
Hopefully this will be the last of it. If this is a serious message then all of us should be concerned, it means the hate movement is gaining strength.
After work, I went back with a camera and got a couple of digital pics of cars that were still "marked" there. If curious, send me an e-mail, jhuth@mn.rr.com .
Please help with any information you can offer. If this is real and continues, my friends and I will be documenting everything we can.
My Kerry Edwards sign is bolted to the house, the sole survivor.

1. It is serious....
A group of people against gays can lead to worse things, especially when they want to send a message. I hope somebody doesn't get tied to a fence post around there. Ugh.

2. Slowly but surely we're working towards
making a law that requires gay people to register and wear arm bands.

3. Damn that sucks
I live in Bloomington, but drive into Minneapolis routinely and have enjoyed seeing the Kerry signs still up. I hope the catch the culprit!
