NBC Nightly News in Minnesota
NBC Nightly News was reporting from the Fitzgerald Theatre today.

The keys of the broadcast talked about the changing political atmosphere and and interview with Garrison Keillor.

The piece they ran before the Keillor interview was slanted towards the right, in that Minnesota will eventually turn red (Republican) no matter what in a matter of time. They showed some Bushites from Anoka to make this point. The Keillor interview was not enough to dismiss the previous story's assumpsions.

1. Buying Diebold? Sequoia? Any BBV?
Nice of them to tell you what your vote count will look like in advance of not only the next elections, but the campaigns.

2. No Electronic Voting in MN
it is a state law that all votes have to have a paper record. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

3.  Anoka County vote results
this is where I focused phone banking and door knocking. I thought Kerry would do much better.

4. Still not as big
as the story was spun to be. It inferred that the outer suburbs are a deep sea of red. A little over 10K difference makes the area a good shade of purple.

5. They didn't mention the gains the DFL made in the state house?
If Minnesota turns red it will be because of all the yuppie scum that moved here during the technical boom, choosing Minnesota not just for jobs but for its "quality of life". A quality they don't want to pay to maintain. I wish they'd all go back to the states they came from.

6. No they did not
it was a story of a former "blue state" now a "battleground state" clearly on its way to becoming a "red state" with Bush loving exurbites leading the way.

7. How did they accomplish that spin?
Kerry beat * here by a much larger margin than Gore did in 2000. The whole crap about Minnesota turning "battleground" or maybe even "red" is due solely to two things:

1) Pawlenty "winning" the governorship because the Democratic vote was split between a liberal Democrat and a conservative one.

2) Repukes successfully turning the senate election of 2002 into a referendum on the "appropriateness" of the Wellstone memorial, which they also had hammered into everyone was bad, bad, bad.

8. I saw that last night
and was thinking, wtf? Did this guy not investigate our election results? I found it rather alarming, the message being sent to the rest of the nation. :wtf:

GK was good though.

9. 2 nights in a row
If anyone caught NBC at Pittsburgh tonight, they did the same thing. Kerry blue state is really a "tossup" state but a clearly trending red state.

10. Clearly proof
that the mainstream media is on Rove's payroll. I appreciate those of you who watch this stuff, because I don't have the stomach for it. It turn on the tube and am repulsed in less than 60 seconds. Can't miss Jon Stewart though.
