"President Bush's political strategist Karl Rove will headline a fundraiser for Governor Pawlenty in Minneapolis on April eighth.

Minnesota Republican Party chairman Ron Eibensteiner says he had long ago invited Rove to appear at a state party organization fundraiser, but that Rove chose to specifically aid Pawlenty's 2006 re-election campaign.

Rove was recently named deputy White House chief of staff for policy. He's best known for mapping out Bush's presidential campaigns.

Pawlenty has strongly denied that he has any current interest in seeking an office other than the one he holds now. But D-F-L Party officials are beginning to ask whether Pawlenty intends to finish a second term if he wins one.

Pawlenty's office wouldn't comment on the Rove visit."
