Analysis: Ney unlikely to go quietly
http://www.timesreporter.com/left.php?ID=49717&r=0

Ohio Republicans are saying Party Chairman Robert T. Bennett, known for expecting and enforcing high ethical standards, will ask Ney not to run for re-election if he is indicted.
(snip)
Timing is a problem. Feb. 16 is the deadline for candidates to register for the May primary. If Ney is the party’s only candidate after that date and then is forced out of the race, Republicans are stuck without a candidate, unless it is a write-in.
That could open the door for a Democrat in an election year when Democrats already are expected to make significant gains in both Congress and Ohio.
(snip)
Should anyone express an interest in Ney’s seat or run against him, it would be “digging your own political grave” because Ney is considered “ruthless” and “vindictive,” several Republicans said.
more............

Republicans are looking at State Sens. Jay Hottinger of Newark, and Joy Padgett of Coshocton. Ruthless and vindictive are two adjectives that describe Ney perfectly. I've seen him at work attacking and belittling any one who questions his authority. He fits in perfectly with Bush, Cheney and DeLay.

1. Boy I hope he drops out and
They pick Padgett to run for his seat...I am itching for another chance to campaign against her and watch her go down in flames!

She played dirty when she ran against Anderson and I got in a shouting match with her at a local parade over her dirty politics.

She is a worthless State Sen. that has no business being in politics!

4. The new guy's gonna fit in well here
"I got in a shouting match with her at a local parade over her dirty politics"
I remember that story. She slimed Terry Anderson for meeting with terrorists--his captors--in a meeting where he tried to reconcile. If there is such a thing as Karma, Padgett's gonna suffer.
Welcome to the Ohio forum, RG :hi:

5. Thanks for the welcome....
Padgett ran one of the dirtiest campaigns I have ever witnessed. She had a radio ad that linked Terry Anderson to, and among other things; terrorist, gay marriage, liberal elites and the state of New York which Padgett claimed to be the land of Hillary Clinton.

I despise that woman with every fiber of my being........

2. Hahahahahaha!
What bullsh*t spin - "Bennett expects and enforces high ethical standards"? Does the so called reporter actually expect anyone to believe that crap?

Ohio GOP is desperate, they're coming unglued, but that's what happens when you operate as though you're above the law.

3. Yeh, it would be good
if Ney loses his Chairmanship now, but doesn't get indicted until August.
