Toledo Blade endorses Weirauch, Konop
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 11:23 AM by jakefrep
In this morning's edition, the Toledo Blade endorsed Robin Weirauch for the Ohio 5th district and Ben Konop for the Ohio 4th.

for Ben Konop:

The Blade's endorsement of Konop is no surprise, given that they ran a series of articles documenting Mike Oxley's ties to Corporate America, but the endorsement of Robin Weirauch is a pleasant surprise.

1. And we thought the Blade never did
anything, uh, correct! Hey, my wife grew up in Napoleon!

3. Well, The Blade..
...DID win a Pulitzer for its series of articles about the Tiger Force in Vietnam. Even blind squirrels find acorns occasionally.

I live in Napoleon and work for Robin's campaign. I'm sure everybody will be in good spirits tomorrow.

2. Cool.
I will definitely be voting for Konop. The guy's only a year older than me, seems to know what he's about, and I like his positions on pretty much everything.

The Blade's series on Oxley was really good (and depressing). I hope we're able to get rid of him, but I dunno if it'll happen or not -- here in Findlay the guy is basically a hometown hero for opposing the attempted Marathon Oil takeover by (I think) Chevron back in the early 80s.

Mind you, he hasn't gotten Marathon to keep their jobs here in the past 10 years or so, so at this point I don't think it should really count for anything.
