How does one fill out a write-in ballot in Ohio? |
|
I've never written in a candidate at an election before, and I wanna make sure Fanon Rucker gets my vote for Hamilton County Prosecutor.

2. If you are voting on a punch card ballot |
|
on the inside of the envelope there are spaces where you would enter the office and the candidate's name. If you go to the polls on Election Day, the poll workers can also show how to cast a write-in vote.

At the top of your punch card ballot will be several lines that are still showing when you insert the ballot into the slot in the voting booth. Right above those lines you will clearly see the words "WRITE IN." All you need to write is the name "Rucker." There is only one write-in contest (Deters/Rucker) and so that's all you need to put in. You don't need Fanon or County Prosecutor. You don't even need to spell Rucker correctly as long as the ballot counters can understand that you meant Rucker and not Deters -- you'd have to be a really bad speller to be that far gone!
