This website updates the election results/events as they happen. It is an outstanding source to keep track of everything.
Top story today: Blackwell's announcement.
Good work!

1. Hey - maybe you can help...
I'm finishing up a little project where I've compiled all the voting irregularities into a comprehensive article and I need 2 more pieces of info.

1) Where do I find a precinct by precinct breakdown of votes for EACH candidate in Cayahoga county?

2) Which states had E-voting machines in 2002?

If I can get those- I'll have a nice article to e-mail people.

Thanks for the post too - it's heartening.

2. I heard from a friend who
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 12:16 AM by kerry2win
sent a letter to newschannel 5 alocal abc station regarding Blackwell, and she got a response back that they were aware of the things she claimed and that there were other things also that were being investigated thru the national abc .this was on thursday she heard this....I know its heresay but it wouldn't suprise me in the least if a major story came out against him from all the things he's done. I think he's feeling the pressure and knows he might be going down.

7. If the national ABC is picking this up
it's only because they want to deflect the public's attention from the administration and make Blackwell a scapgoat. Maybe they even set him up to be. Jennings is more and more conservative Christian every day. He likes his boy George.

3. Blackwell should be in jail,
what he has done is criminal.

5. And even if not ...
It's clearly unethical. I hope it screws up the GOP for the governor's race, if nothing else positive comes of this.

with the backlash he has gotten...and rightly so.

8. If you understand Ohio ...
you know that Blackwell would have had to count on minority votes (most of which are African American votes, here in Ohio) to win anything. People who voted for him for Secretary Of State because he was AA likely would refuse to vote for him for anything from this point forward, since he made the mistake of obviously disenfranchising the African American vote this year.

I would have to imagine as far out on a limb as he crawled, the Bush Administration has promised him some position in D.C. for making damned sure Ohio went to Bush. You may well have heard it here first -- if he suddenly drops out and becomes ambassador to Egypt or Ethiopia, you read it here on DU first.

11. This is insulting!
...you know that Blackwell would have had to count on minority votes (most of which are African American votes, here in Ohio) to win anything. People who voted for him for Secretary Of State because he was AA...

Why would you think that?

You seem to think minorities are so dumb that they vote solely on skin color rather than the merits of the candidate and/or party affiliation.

10. Beacon Journal link
http://www.ohio.com/mld/beaconjournal/news/state/10166750.htm?1c

Meanwhile, counties that were confused about whether to validate provisional ballots that don't have voters' dates of birth on them were told Friday by the secretary of state's office in a conference call to allow those ballots.

Cuyahoga County elections board director Michael Vu said there had been confusion over whether missing birth dates made the ballots invalid.

"We're counting those now," he said.
