Derrick Seaver - Ohio 85th District State Rep is switching to Rep.
Just heard it today through the grapevine but a reliable grapevine - my local county commissioner. Mr. Seaver was just re-elected as a Democrat but is now switching parties. FYI: He very publicly came out in support of * via letters to his constituents in the 85th District and a LTTE in my city paper. After the election was over, and * theoretically won, I wrote Mr. Seaver a very scathing letter. I told him that I did not vote for him, even though he ran unopposed, and would not support him in the future. I detailed a few of my views regarding *, the war in Iraq, the deficit and dismantling Social Security. My final suggestion to him was to switch his party affiliation to Repub. I guess he took my suggestion. I'm sure I'm not the only one to be in contact with him. Takes nerve though.

2. Reps term is 2 years?? Start now...
A flip-flopping turncoat like that probably has pissed off a lot of people on both sides... isn't there a real Dem your area can get behind and start working on getting them elected?

3. It's a fact now. Seaver is announcing today at a news conference.
It was front page headline in the Urbana paper today. He approached the GOP leadership this past summer about switching. The traitor! He should never have been on the ballot as a Democrat. What a scum. Hopefully the Democrats can find someone to put on the ticket and send him packing in two years. I still cannot believe this.

5. This is sickening.
Let's dig into his campaign finance records and demand that he return money Democrats donated to his campaign.

Flip-flopper.

4. This story is the top headline in my local paper
www.urbanacitizen.com . No big surprise here-we had heard from one of his top assistants in September that he was going to endorse chimpy, so as far as the Dems in Champaign County were concerned, he should switch. Guess it doesn't matter to him that Dems helped get him elected as the youngest rep in the US-he was even on Letterman after he was first elected. Word is that he won't be running for the same seat again-he wants to move up the ladder. Hope someone out there is looking at this as a chance to run against him, no matter what seat he runs for, and starts their campaign now! Personally, I will do everything I can to see that he gets defeated.

6. Repeating the mantra
that the democratic party has become "too liberal".

He cites Pelosi, Kerry and Michael Moore as examples. Moore is an independent, of course, but never mind FACTS.

I guess Pelosi and Kerry became democratic leaders in the last TWO FUCKING WEEKS!

Don't blame us for your failings and greed, thank you very much.

Maybe we should have a demonstration at his swearing in...We can dig out our flip flops!

7. He'll have a hell of a time climbing up through that clot.
Young cons are a dime a dozen around here. At least he 'outed' himself before he got into a more responsible position -- now he'll just be a little fish in a whole sea of little fishes, running for higher office.
