1. Because Bartlett is from New Hampshire
Is Martin Sheen from Ohio?

4. Dayton boy makes good...
Sheen is an Ohio native (as are Rob Lowe and Allison Janney)

7. Lowe and Janney are also from Dayton
Which the Dayton Daily News almost never failed to point out on almost a daily basis, until its fascination with The West Wing wore out about a season or two ago. Whenever any of the three were nominated or won an award, it would invariably be front page news.

The DDN even did a write-up on an Oakwood bakery that sent cookies to the cast. (I think Janney turned the cast on to them, and the bakery got wind of it and started sending them out to LA. I've had said cookies, by the way, and they ARE melt-in-your-mouth good!)

And, if you note closely, you'll see Jed sipping from a Dayton Flyers mug, at least in one episode early in the show's run.

Still...it's pretty amazing...three stars in the same show from the same town (I wonder if Lowe -- "Dr. Vegas" -- regrets not staying on?).

2. A Few Years Ago
here in NC, there was serious talk about our next governor being either Richard Petty or the Nature Boy, Ric Flair (Woo!).

3. How about Jerry Springer? I hear he may want to run for Gov. or US Sen.
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 03:02 PM by DinahMoeHum
And he is former mayor of Cincinnati, right? So it's not like he has no political experience.

Any correction of errors would be greatly appreciated.

5. Jerry is back on the air in Cincinnati
WSAI (soon to by WCKY) is picking up parts of the Air America broacast schedule, with Jerry Springer on from 9:00 to noon. You can stream live starting Monday.

6. How about Jerry Springer?
Other than that he would probably have next to no credibility among some Ohio voters?

I'll do Springer the courtesy of a listen, but I hope Sheen reconsiders. He has much to offer, and I think he would be the fresh air that the Democratic Party as a whole needs.

8. Jerry Springer has more lives than a cat
and can change his skin like a chameleon...he has truly got name recognition and that often counts more than anything else...and conservative Cincinnati reelected him even after he wrote that check to the hooker (and that was in the 70's).

BTW I'm not a Springer fan, but would not be surprised to see him elected to some office or other in the future, if that's what he decides to do.

11. Anything is possible...
Edited on Sat Jan-15-05 02:25 PM by AngryOldDem
...the fact that a majority of Ohioans clearly voted against their best self-interest in November proves that.
