COLUMBUS -- Gov. Bob Taft said Tuesday that he had mistakenly failed to list golf outings and events on the financial disclosure form he is required to file each year with the Ohio Ethics Commission.

Public disclosure of the errors also came with the Republican-controlled state government, led by Taft, reeling from investment scandals at the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation involving rare coin collections managed by Toledo-area Republican contributor Tom Noe and risky hedge funds.
Taft also has been dogged by low approval ratings, including a national survey that showed him with the lowest approval rating among all 50 governors.
