Kerry sets a fund raising record in Cincinnati
Apparently he raised more money than any non-incumbent Democrat ever. He raised one million dollars from what I heard on the radio, the newspapers haven't picked this story up yet. This is a good sign, especially for a conservative town like Cincy.

1. This is great news!
If Cincinnati is jumping on the ABB bandwagon, then Ohio is Kerry country, and so is the rest of America.

2. Son-of-a-Bush!
They were only hoping for a half million dollars! I didn't attend the $1,000/plate dinner. I gave $25 and was allow to lick Charlie Luken's dessert spoon after security had cleared the area.

3. Here's the crappy Cincy Enquirer article about the event.
With predictable partisanship and right-wing suck-upmanship, here's the Enquirer's version of the Kerry Luncheon:

Hey, they even included a Rob Portman quote... what a surprise!!

The Republican response to Kerry's two-day Ohio tour was to blast the Democrat for being too "doom and gloom."

"I know it is in John Kerry's political interests to badmouth the economy and compare it to the Great Depression, but the truth is we are experiencing the fastest economic growth in 20 years," said Rep. Rob Portman, R-Terrace Park, the communications chairman of Bush's Ohio campaign.

4. I expect no less from the local bird cage liner
Maybe Portman's rich buddies are experiencing economic growth... but I haven't noticed much.

5. So when Bush comes to Cincinnati...
Do you think they'll quote one of the leaders of the anti-Bush protests, or just resolutely ignore them? I'm betting on the "resolutely ignore" option.
