Cle PD: GOP outsider has the inside track for governor (Blackwell)

And in a three-way primary, Bennett concurs with almost everyone else that, "Right now, there is no question Ken Blackwell would win."

In his relentless digs at the opposition, Blackwell likes to say, "To be successful, it is clear the Republican nominee cannot be Taft-lite or Taft-like. In this race, Betty is Taft-lite and Jim is Taft-like. So the label Ken Blackwell has as the anti-Taft may have been considered to be an albatross three years ago, but is now considered to be a life raft."

As always, there's a bit of truth in Blackwell's clever insults. Of the three, he is clearly the least like the governor who now holds the job in name only. That's why - despite Blackwell's scary, far-right political positions - there's some sentiment within Republican ranks for allowing Blackwell to have the nomination. The reasoning of those Republicans goes something like this:

If Blackwell wins, we've miraculously retained the governorship. If he loses, who cares? We were probably going to get clobbered anyway, so it's best that Blackwell takes the terrible beating. Blackwell would surely be willing to take that chance. And the way it looks now, he just might get it.

1. there's always a chance for blackwell, as long as Ohio vies with Florida
as the most electorally-corrupt state in the union. And let us not forget, blackwell is the architect of much of that corruption. The man doesn't belong on a ballot, he belongs on death row.

3. He's virtually a lock
OH is a banana republic. Whitewell might get 110% of the vote.

5. Nonsense
EVERY word out of Bob Bennett's mouth is a LIE including "and" and "the."

In EVERY poll that I have seen, Blackwell trails a distant third behind Petro and sweaty Betty. The PD columnist is off his nut and Bennett is full of manure.

And I am SICK of this CRAP off attacking Ohio. Ohio is the ultimate "purple' state- it splits right down the middle. The problem is an absolutely useless state party- and left wingnuts who appeal to everyone EXCEPT voters.
