Ohio GOP, Rove endorse DeWine for re-election

WASHINGTON - The Ohio Republican Party voted unanimously Friday to endorse Sen. Mike DeWine's re-election campaign after getting a phone call from White House deputy chief of staff Karl Rove.
"We want to do everything we can to get this good man back in here," Rove told the party's executive committee, according to a news release from the party.

"He is a loyal stalwart," Rove said. "He's voted for our judges. He's supported our budgets. He's supported our tax cuts. He's supported our education reforms. He supported the Patriot Act. He supported legal reform. This guy has been a loyal and strong supporter of the president."...

Former Republican Rep. Bob McEwen has been mentioned as a possible primary challenger to DeWine, whose approval ratings have fallen as he has drawn criticism from conservatives for taking part in a bipartisan compromise to bar judicial filibusters.

Another possible Republican primary challenger, former AK Steel Corp. president John Hritz, decided recently not to run against DeWine and is instead running for Ohio state treasurer.

3. How much will that endorsement be worth if Rove gets indicted? Could be
some juicy campaign fodder for Hackett.

7. Oh, man
Message to Mike: Stop what you're doing, slowly back away, and then run like your life (or your job) depended on it. Run like hell.

That's the LAST thing ANY GOP politician needs right now -- the blessings of Uncle Karl. (In a strange way, I feel kind of sorry for Mike for being saddled with this so soon -- nah, on second thought, I don't.)

:D

8. Um........yeah.
DeWine's supported everything the President has done. But, while doing this, Mr. DeWine does not seem to keep in mind that a good portion of our state's citizens favor Democratic ideals, principles, and candidates. So, therefore, Mr. DeWine is not doing his elected job: to truly and fairly represent ALL of Ohio's citizens. He is just another sheep blindly following the flock, concerned only for his wallet and enlarging his bank account.

Thank you, Mr. DeWine, for being another one of those spineless politicians full of ignorance toward your constituents. I, for one, will be glad to see you go.

Come on Ohio, let's "git 'r dun!"
