Opportunity to Ask Sherrod Brown Questions
There are postings at
http://www.OhioHonestElections.org
regarding the possible primary in Ohio. Those who think Sherrod Brown should not throw Ohio Democrats into the abyss of an intra-party fight will have the opportunity to question him on Sunday, October 9, 2005.

Here is the invitation:
"Saturday, October 08, 2005
"Why is Sherrod Brown running for Senate? Ask him at "A Candidates' Night with Congressman Sherrod Brown", Sunday, October 9, 2005, 6:30 p.m., at The Blackwell Hotel, The Ohio State University,2110 Tuttle Park Place (between the Holiday Inn and High Street off of Lane Avenue). Sponsored by UAPA."

"Join UAPA for a captivating evening that's all about Grassroots and Winning?1 Learn why it's critical to pass the Reform Ohio Now amendments."

There is also a post on a Hackett meetup.

1. "the abyss of an intra-party fight" ?

Melodramatic much?

Wouldn't the potential intra-party fighting be eliminated just as easily if Hackett decided not run? I'm just saying...

I really don't understand why Hackett supporters feel so entitled. If Hackett is the best candidate, then he'll win the primary and have more name recognition to boot. Sherrod Brown has ever right to run.

2. I don;t understand this tossing off a loyal democrat
who has fought for decades, yes decades, for all of us....

Just to embrace the newest flavor of the month...

Not that I don't respect Mr. Hackett....

But to elevate him into god like status just because he came close in a special election in the middle of summer is going a bit too far...

4. Brown had the opportunity to announce months ago
He specifically declined and then AFTER Hackett had his campaign up and running and ready to go, he pulled a bait and swtich. If Brown had announced in August, Hackett and Ryan would've bowed out of the race and made way for him. Now the DSCC goes to Hackett and begs him to run and then Brown changes his damn mind AFTER Hackett is already set up and ready to go The point is that Brown and the DSCC SCREWED Hackett royally and that pisses me off and a lot of other people off.
