1. Psssssst... he's running.
Sherrod's running for sure, but I talked to Paul today. He's running.

That's just between you, me, and DU. :-)

2. WORD!
He'll coast to a victory...

If he could come close in neo-con heaven, then he will really do well in Columbus, Toledo, and Cleveland. Man, that'll be schweeeet!

4. It's Sherrod Brown by the way....
And he is far more qualified and has done yeoman like work for the party over the last 25 years...

But I guess someone calling Bush out is far more important than a track record of service to the working people of America....

7. I Understand That
BUT I feel that having Hackett in the Senate means more to the entire party than just one little 'ol Senate seat. I feel that Hackett could create a Democratic tidal wave for years to come.

But, I'm in Alabama and will have no say anyway. :P

8. It is dangerous to put so much hope and faith in one man...
Especially someone who has little to no public record to speak of...

He seems like a very attractive candidate so far to me...

I just don't understand, and quite frankly it scares me, the messianic adulation accorded Paul Hackett....

5. Just to clarify... I was only being sarcastic when I said it was between..
.. me, you, and all DUers! I was being kind of silly.

He said as much in the Cincinnati Enquirer, here.

Hackett is a 'go' for Senate

At any rate, I think the vocal grassroots support had something to do with his final decision. :-)

6. The problem is...
If Sherrod and Hacket oppose in the primary, one of them will be out for the general election. If Sherrod loses, he will have given up a secure House seat. If Paul loses, he will be unable to run for anything in the Fall (except via write-in). Personally, I think that would be a waste.
