In the spirit of providing feedback, here's what I'm seeing and hearing in Montco - much much much more visibility is needed. In other words, the campaign really needs to kick things up a notch, or a lot of notches. You can have an awesome email list (I've sent in names) and folks can write letters (I've sent a few to newspapers...not sure if they'll ever get published, but nothing ventured nothing gained)...but voters need to see and hear from Joe, until they're sick of seeing and hearing from Joe!!!! And there needs to be far more coordination with other campaigns....I've helped out with other campaigns in this area, and asked about their dealings with the Hoeffel folks and the universal response is..."I don't hear much from them.....". But mostly, there need to be far more campaign events - that campaign calendar should have far more events than what are there!! Also more paper - handouts, bumper stickers (will they ever get printed?) - things that get the Hoeffel name out in public. With the Kerry campaign and with House campaigns I get a sense of enthusiastic urgency, if that phrase makes sense. With Hoeffel, I've called in to volunteer to help stuff envelopes or make calls or whatever, and have been told "nothing going on today". I don't know whether folks need to mainline Jolt Cola or whatever, but please, please, please wake up and get moving!!!!!!!! I'm doing the best I know as an ordinary schmo, but I feel like the Hoeffel campaign is sleepwalking or sleepcrawling.
