What about voting for Dean in the primary? |
|
As I understand it, he will still be on the ballot. I take it for granted that Kerry will be the nominee -- in fact I probably would not vote Dean if the nomination were still in play, because I think he was and is weak on the issues -- but I'm thinking a substantial minority vote for Dean might send a message to Kerry that Kerry needs to hear.

to dash down and vote for Dean. It'll be my only chance to vote for him, and I won't waste it.

my PA primary is Tuesday and I voted for Dean by absentee ballot. There will be a lot of Dean, Edwards, and Clark delegates at the convention. That should provide some interesting debate in Boston. Ideally the people voting in the remaining primaries should vote for whoever they want since Kerry's got the nomination locked up.
Hopefully they produce a strong platform by taking the best of each.

I plan on voting Dean, just to voice my lack of complete satisfaction with Kerry. He's OK, but I preferred Dean; unfortunately, PA has their primary so damn late.... Needless to say, it will be a Kerry vote in the fall, but for now - the Democratic leadership needs to understand that Kerry will get my general vote only because he is NOT Bush, rather than because he is J. Kerry
Any movement on making the primary date earlier in the future? I think I heard "Fast Eddie" Rendell talking about moving it to the first possible week of January. Would rather that I could vote then, rather than at a time where the Knuckle-dragging Red states have already made the decisions for me.
