Interesting PGH find in Cleveland second-hand store |

(A place where this former resident of Apollo found an autographed first-edition of Rudy G.'s "Leadership" for 2 bucks).
"Fighting Back" by Rocky Bleier
(I think first edition)
With the note:
"To my good friend Carol Stitak (sp?)
I want to thank you for the picture album. It was such a delight. This isn't much in return but maybe you will enjoy it.
Best Always
Rocky Bleier #20"
The (sp?) was mine.

How long ago did you live in Apollo? Grew up across the river in North Washington.

Reality was, 'rents moved back there in 68 (middle of first grade). Left for enemy territory in 1985. Lived in the Burgh 88-89. Came back and married a die-hard Browns fan.
Dating during the football season was interesting. Never stuck around when they played each other.
Back in middle-school days, coming down over that hill just before getting to the buildings, I always thought those letters painted on the side of the "cliff" across the Kiski were actually a doorway. Always wanted to climb up there and check it out. Ahh, but really lived out by Kistaco's produce stand, and never had the chance before my imagination gave way to reality.
