Question re: John Heinz III Center in Wilkes-Barre |
|
I'm streaming this call-in show that's on PCN with spokespeople from both the Kerry and Junior campaigns taking questions.
A guy called in a few minutes ago from Wilkes-Barre and said that laid-off workers from TechniGlass were going to the Heinz Center to get health care, but that the employees there were more interested in helping the insurance companies then they were the TechniGlass folks.
Should I assume this gentleman was a GOP plant? Any thoughts?
Thanks.

1. They have to live with the current system |
|
They can't just make up a system of their own, not if they want to stay open. $500 million is alot of money, but probably only enough to run a hospital for a few years, if that. What part of our education system is failing when people can't draw logical conclusions from available information?

2. Thanks for the insight |

I wasn't sure what the caller meant by that question and I appreciate your shedding some light on this.
My heart goes out to these laid-off workers from TechniGlass, though. They're in my thoughts and prayers, and I'm hoping they'll be other jobs they can move into.

And honestly, there's people who live like that their whole lives. Work and everything, and can't get health care unless they're deathly ill, injured or dying. They're using the Heinz name as a twisted reason to keep voting for the system that's causing them problems in the first place. It's very frustrating.

4. I understand completely and I honestly feel for them |
|
but I'm of the opinion that they should be pleased that they at least have a place like the Heinz Center to go to. What if there wasn't ANY PLACE to go in that area? What would they do then?
Maybe I'm wrong here, but it sounds like a case of biting the hand that's helping them.

That's what I mean exactly, sorry if it didn't come out that way. But I don't think the Heinz Center is a free clinic type of place, is it? I understood it to be a research hospital or something like that.
