How did the GOP get my name?
I was always under the impression that the parties got the list of registered names from the local chapters to send out election time junk mail, but why am I getting so much republican crap?

Now my mother used to be a registered pub, but this stuff is coming addressed to me and I am not and at no time have I ever been a member of the republican party. This isn't just the occasional rah-rah Bush flyer, I'm getting several every day from the GOP on how Kerry is going to have tea with Osama or whatever horseshit they're peddling this week. I'm getting tons of Specter stuff too.

The more paranoid part of my brain wants to think this was a final F-U from my diehard pubbie neighbor who moved away this week. He was always somewhat grumpy to me after I verbally pantsed the poor clown running for mayor he was dragging around the block.

1. They are compling their mailings on more than party registration
Income level, residency, religion, charitable donations, # of children, etc. They have tailored their marketing in the way businesses have.

2. I considered that
but I have no kids, no religion, I live in a heavily Democratic area, and my income level is one that pubbies treat as if it doesn't exist.

I shouldn't be on their radar at all, let alone get 2-3 mailings a day.

3. One better...
On election day 2000, I got a pre-recorded phone call, "Hello, this is George W. Bush. I hope you will get and vote today. And I hope you will vote for me." Laughed all the way to the polling booth.

4. Wow. He hasn't called us and we have yet to receive any invitation
to vote for him by phone or mail. We're unwanted. BWHAAAAAAAAAA
