Armstrong To Lay Off Hundreds In Lancaster

Thu Nov 4, 6:42 PM ET

Armstrong Holdings, based in Lancaster, announced that it will stop making commercial products at its Lancaster plant.

That will mean about 450 jobs will be lost.

Armstrong CEO Mike Lockhart said the layoffs will begin with closing of the tile operation on Dec. 17. The first 70 will be let go in February and another 130 in June. In the first half of 2006, 250 more workers will lose their jobs.

Lockhart said the layoffs are a result of overhead costs and not wage costs.

I wonder how many of these were Bush voters. Hate to be cruel, but I'm going to be laughing my balls off at the Bush voters laid off. Note that Armstrong held off to help the Dictator.

1. and the hits keep on coming!
there is serious weakness in the economy -- and this is going to become a huge factor.
you have to wonder how the people will digest this when it comes to their choices for elected officials.
how have santorum and spector helped the penn economy -- seeing how it has suffered some major job losses over the last several years.
people are really lost -- and they are obviously not thinking.
