how many folks here in PA went?
I hit the Pittsburgh showing at the Waterfront and only about 1/3 of the theater was full... (11 am showing on a Saturday) i was disappointed with the turn out. I was totally shocked by the film though, had to walk around before riding the Cycle again... I knew alot of what was in it before hand but even some parts surprised me.

1. In my town (pop 7000) SOLD OUT |
|
Friday night I saw the 7:30 show, which completely sold out. And when I was leaving the line went both up & down the street. I know for a fact that show sold out.
What was really funny is that in a college town 10 miles away that theater sold out completely the first night, and we got their overflow. And that was one of those new very large theaters. They were told to comeback on Saturday.
Saturday sold out also, (my friend went)
The people behind me in line have a son in Iraq, they were admitted into the theater for free. Later on I talked to the wife, and told her I was praying for her son, which is when she told me he was stationed in Fallujah.
There was laughter & tears. And a very large applause at the end.

Commenting on the same theater as momof1: Before F911 premiered, some of us emailed the theater to see if they would show it, and they weren't sure. They did show it. It was sold out for several shows, as momof1 said, and its STILL playing there as of tonight!
That's a shocker for Central PA! They must still be making good money, or they would be moving on to something else. This is GREAT news.

2. hi. I saw it at the Midtown in Harrisburg on Saturday. |
|
That was the closest theatre to York. Seated only about 120 people; sold out I'd say about 10 minutes after tickets went on sale (45 minutes before the show). That was the first showing at 1pm. The next at 3pm obviously sold out too, judging by the long lines at this very small theatre.

I saw the very first show at 1 on Friday. The newspaper said the first show would be at 10, which wasn't so, and great confusion ensued. The newspaper made up for their mistake by making F911 the lead story on the front page on Saturday morning.
The local Kerry group (including me for 3 nights) staffed a table outside the theater for a week and got 60 new voter registrations and many additional volunteers.
Pittsburgh had an enormous number of theaters showing the movie, many more than Philadelphia.

3. You'll be glad to know the Waterfront sold out from 2PM on |
|
I was at the 7pm showing and it was great. Was glad to see a lot of 20 and 30 somethings. Lot of clapping all through key moments in the film.
And tonight there was a tremendous turnout at Pitt for Michael Moore Moveon meet. They had the assembly hall in Pitt student union and the place was packed. Mixed crowd of grey hairs dating back to activism in the 60's and 70's to a number of those in their 20's. There had to be 300+ in the room.
Channel 4 came out and did an interview and some great shots of the crowd. They didn't show till end of 11PM news - too bad they didn't pair with middle of the show where they showed Clinton and mentioned he's almost hit a million. Still great though that the crowd brought out one local news camera crew.
From the Kerry meetups this past week, Fahrenheit crowds and tonight - I'd say Bushie is in trouble in this part of PA - tremendous energy to get out the vote here.

in a small theater in Allentown. It was sold out!! And the line was already forming for the next show, which was starting at 4:45, when we got out a little bit after 4PM!!!
What can I say about my reaction? I cried and laughed and clapped at the end along with everyone else. I wasn't surprised by anything I saw but I was saddened by plenty of it. Because I get most of my information online, I hadn't seen alot of the footage Moore presents. So I am now trying to decide what that look on Bush's face was when he was told the first plane hit...is wasn't shock, surprise, or even inqusition...what WAS that?!?!
Well, I had no intention of voting for him before I saw it, now I just wish that everyone who is still on the fence would take the time to see it and really absorb the information. Moore is emotionally ruthless with this one.

It's nice to be here. I really miss being politically active. I see pictures of myself 15 years ago at marches in DC and wonder when I fell asleep at the wheel. At any rate, I'm fired up and ready to go again!

10. Had to go to the Mall in Hagerstown, Md. since it was not showing in |
|
the Chambersburg area(fat chance). The Thursday 5 PM matinee was about 3/4 full which I thought was pretty good. I already knew weverything in the film, but it was good to see it all strung together. The audience was mixed ages, mostly older. There was applause at the end.
