Miss Piggy comes out swinging
Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn, insisting she was motivated by mathematics and not provoked by politics, on Monday likened Gov. Rick Perry's school finance plan to a man-made disaster of historical proportions.

"You've heard of financing schemes that have a balloon payment at the end? This one has the Hindenburg," she said, referring to the 1937 dirigible conflagration.

The comptroller projected that the Perry plan, despite tax hikes, would leave the state with a $10 billion deficit at the end of five years.

Strayhorn, whose review came as lawmakers headed to town for a special session that begins today to address school finance, also went the one-liner route in discussing Perry's effort to end the so-called Robin Hood tax plan, which shifts tax dollars from property-wealthy school districts to poorer ones.

"Most importantly, the governor's plan replaces Robin Hood with robbin' everybody," she said, adding that it "takes taxpayers out for separate muggings.

The Austin Real-Estateman has a very intrusive registration policy. I've gotten credit cards with less hassle. PM me and I'll share.

3. Damn...
I though Jim Henson had sued someone. Or Kermit had been rumbled for having a homosexual text sex relationship with Barney the Dinosaur, and Miss Piggy had decided to leave him.

Perhaps her extra-marital affair with Gonzo will come out (c'mon, why else would he be around so much if he didn't fancy her?). Kermit would then hit the bottle, Animal will pick him up, turn him into a drug user and then there'll be a big confrontation between Kermit and Miss Piggy ("I don't need you!" "No Kermie...all you need it your bottle and needle").

So who's this Straythorn lass anyway?

6. Carol Keaton McClellen Rylander Strayhorn
Is our oft-married State Comptroller. She's held just about every elected office in the state and wants to become governor to complete the set.

"Miss Piggy" was her nickname as mayor of Austin circa 1980.

For additional interest, her little boy Scottie McClellen is Busholini's lying mouthpiece.

9. Well, I think she'd be a huge improvement on the current jackass.
She seems to have some interest in the truth, at least regarding budget and tax numbers. She also seems to have some interest in the relationship between taxes, funds, and services to Texans.

10. Well, at one time she was a Democrat.
And, I'm guessing that you couldn't have been a raving right-wing nutjob and get elected mayor of Austin.

I don't think of her as a Neo-Con, just a conservative who understood the winds of change and switched parties to get herself elected.

11. She was a pretty staunch member of the Concrete Party
During the wars over development back in those days. She did vote to knock down the Armadillo World Headquarters after all. But I agree, as Texas Repugs go, she's not THAT evil.

14. She's out only for herself
Don't let her fool you. She has always been "bought". Her only concern with higher office is that she can raise her price tag.

Her two sons, Mark and Scott are the head of Bush's Medicare (Former head of the FDA) and Press Secretary respectively. Both are mercenaries as well.

4. I cannot WAIT for the 2005 Legislative Session!
School finance is just the beginning.

It will be interesting to see the Republicans scamper to the different camps. Also, this puts this Democrats in a strange position of power. Each group of Republicans will be offering goodies to get the Democrats' votes. Heehee...

16. Someone once described Perry
as a Democrat who changed coats at a time when Democrats couldn't be elected. An "overall decent guy".

Boy. Was that ever a crock of shit.

Does Goodhair do anything except kowtow to Delay et. al.??

17. I love a good fight among repukes
Grab some snacks and enjoy the repuke cannibalism. They're so mean and nasty there is sure to be blood. I say let them fight each other to the death. None of them are worth two cents so it doesn't matter who wins their party nomination. And overall it brings everybody on their side down. Seen Perry's poll numbers lately? They were hovering around 40%. There's one thing you can say about Ms Piggy is that she's like a shark in the water when she smells blood, and Perry is bleeding big time.

for getting into websites that require registration without having to jump through all the hoops, go to www.bugmenot.com
it's a registry of usernames and email addresses for various websites. the a-as may be there. if not, you can enter a new registry.
