Defy Creationists! Support Evolution! D/FW DU outing to Omni?
I was speaking with crispini over the weekend about my intent to support the Omni Theater in Ft. Worth for daring to show "Volcanoes of the Deep", which mentions evolution, and has the fundies with their panties all in a wad. She suggested I make it a DU outing. ginbarn & derby378 have also expressed interest. I'm thinking of going the weekend of April 16-17. The only other weekend I could go would be Apr30 - May1. Whether we go as a group or separately, be sure and let the staff know that you are there to support sound science!

News article about the controversy here. (Requires registration. Go to www.bugmenot.com to get a bogus ID.)

Movie infomation here.

3. Oak Cliff here... Catch a ride with us!
There's also another movie showing, "Aliens of the Deep", that also makes reference to that evil E-word. We could make it a double feature. Also, for $13 you can get a package that gets you a movie, planet`arium, and museum admission. Plus, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants is nearby! :9

4. Hey sweetie!
Sounds like fun!

I think reprehensor and I could be up for that. I ought to be completely utterly fully recovered by then, and ready to hang out. And with a week's notice, that'll give me some time to plan.

:hi:

5. "...fully recovered by then..."??
Are you still recovering from the election? ;)
I haven't seen you since Halloween so I don't know how you've been faring. Anyway, hope you're feeling better soon so we can see you and your lucky hubby-with-an-escape-path-out-of-this-soon-to-be-fascist-country.

6. Unfortunately, it was a little more than that!
I've already bored the other DUers with the story once...see the thread here for all the gory details if you're interested.

12. Dos Gringos is the one I was thinking of.
It's been so many years I'm not sure it's still there. If folks want to meet before or after to eat, I'm not dead-set on Dos Gringos.

Just got word on a recommendation for another: Lucille's on Camp Bowie. Anyone heard of it?

10. We're still interested
Maybe we can get the North Texas Skeptics in on this, too - it could be a fun outing!

But we need to decide on a day and time so we can coordinate.
