Email From Texas 22 - District 22 Political Forum (DeLay's district)

District 22 Political Forum, a.k.a. Texas 22, is a group of people and their representative organizations that live in the 22nd Congressional District of Texas. This is the congressional district that elected Tom DeLay. This forum is the only existing organization on the ground in Texas 22 that collects groups of people from all four counties in this district. We are the only group that can vote for him or against him in the elections that count.

We have embarked on a plan to make sure that the people here understand all of the reasons why our daily lives are hurt by Tom DeLay’s failure to represent our values. He serves his corporate backers instead of our interests.

We ask for your help to publicize this failure of leadership to the people in Texas 22. We want people who have conferred power to him in Washington to realize that they can remove his power for failing to serve the most basic of democratic principles.

Our bumper sticker campaign relates Tom DeLay’s favor of the highway interests over regional planning/mass transit needs. Our blog at www.delaywatchfromthedistrict.blogspot.com tells the story about mass transit and how its angers his voters to sit in traffic:

Our next effort involves putting up billboards to imprint other issues that motivate particular local interest groups. His wretched environmental record is reflected in this proposed billboard:

Our web site www.texas22.org displays other proposed billboards.

Many people who voted for President Bush in the last election did not vote for Republican Tom DeLay. We believe that there are more people who feel that way, and that we need to reach out to them with a message that speaks to their concerns. With help we can change things.

All around the United States, people are contributing huge amounts of money and making loud pronouncements about all that is wrong with Tom DeLay, and we appreciate these actions that show their disgust. We would like to make that point here where it counts. Please do what you can to help.
