DFW DU'ers outing to Polyphonic Spree on July 1st, anyone?
Ya'll, if you have not seen this band, you are missing a delightful symphonic pop treat. Live onstage, they are a totally enjoyable twenty-four piece rock'n'roll sensation. How many of you can say you've seen a rock band with a 14 person choir, a french horn, a harp, a flute player, and a theremin (among other things.) For clips, check out their website at www.polyphonicspree.com.

Here are show details:

We decided to celebrate the 4th of July with you guys a little early so as to not compete with any backyard bbq or keg parties. Sweet Lee Morrow aka Jessie Aidan Podunk Hester will kick off the festivities. I believe we are then going to have a couple of young and upcoming percussionists enthrall you. Third, The Polyphonic Spree will take the stage to sow their wild oats. Finally we will leave you with a fireworks display to behold.

Here is the skinny:

1. You should make a new rule.
"NO PARTY POOPERS ALLOWED!":D
And while I don't consider myself one, I am a fuddie-duddie.:hippie:

2. LOL!
Hey, just as long as I'm not riding with the folks who wanna leave early, and just as long as I'm not obligated to hang with the folks who want to be in the back of the crowd as opposed to the front, ain't no thing. :P

3. Hey Crispini, I am not going to Kentucky, so there is a good chance
I can make this gig.

I will keep you posted...as soon as I am sure I will let you know.
Park at Ferrington Field and take the shuttle over.

Are you planning some sort of banner/balloon/ something to mark the spot?

also, table or lawn seating? Highly recommend bringing a comfortable lawn chair of some kind.

Keep in touch.

5. They have 14 or 15 tables of four left
and several tables of 8 available. The tables are in front of the lawn seats so they would give us better seating. If we can confirm that we definitely will have four people, or eight people, I'd like to go ahead and get a table. What does everyone think? I know a friend of mine will be coming. Honestly, we're the type who usually stands rightupinfront and dances around with the crowd, but I get the feeling that this is the kind of venue that frowns on that? I don't really know since I've never been there!
