LTTE madness
Lately it seems a lot of my peers in town, and here on DU, have been writing letters to newspapers and elected officials. I thought I'd get in the game too with the following submission to the Dullest Morning Snooze. Will let y'all know if it prints.

The Karl Rove scandal has crystallized for me what makes the Bush Administration tick: it's all politics all the time, a perverse chess game where people, their reputations and careers are but pawns to the greater glory of winning at all costs.

This is not new. Rove and the Bush White House have always put politics and power above everything else. Above the economy, the environment, working people, and now we see, even above national security.

The treasonous disclosure of an undercover CIA agent shows that for Rove, every year is a campaign year. A never-ending cycle of spinning facts, muzzling questions, and punishing dissent. Joe Wilson reported facts contrary to the party line, and Rove saw to it that Mrs. Wilson paid the price with her career.

It may seem a paradox that the very people who are obsessed with WMDs would expose to our enemies an agent laboring to find those weapons. But seen through a political lens, non-proliferation of WMDs falls second to punishing a perceived political enemy.

Rove may be a genius at winning elections, but he is not an American who has the best interests of the country in mind.

8. Thanks, Everyone!
I'm afraid my letter drips of too much acid and bitterness, but the dark
shadow of W has been in my face for well nigh over a decade, ever since I was living in Arlington and he bought the Rangers.

My :sarcasm: may be too much for the W-loving DMN.

9. I wrote one to the Houston Chronicle
I haven't gotten any notification as to whether or not they plan to print it. Since I don't subscribe, I may never know.

Why not submit yours via Internet to multiple papers?

12. I do that already
but I've had a tussle with Gurwitz of the SA & the local paper is run by a local GOP operative whose butt I have kicked multiple times, so my only recourse is Plan B. pm if ya wanna know what that is.
