There's a new button that's been going around the Legislature to mark the last day of session(s). Was at a meeting this morning where a current state rep presented a former state rep with a button that said, "Sine Die, MoFo!" Ricky-boy can't get away from his blunder, even in the Capitol!!
SINE DIE - Lat. The final adjournment of a legislative session, without adjourning to a specific time or date. Usually used to connote the final adjournment of a session of Congress or State Legislature.

2. And all the K-12 students in Texas will have an extended vacation. |
|
Seriously, there is no money for public schools to open in the fall.
I'm glad I had already arranged to send my kid elsewhere for school.

They passed money for the TEA budget during the first special session - the money Gov. Perry originally vetoed. It was the only legilsation they passed during the first round. This will allow schools to open on time this year.
It has been sent to the governor to be signed, no word (that I have seen that it has been signed).

3. I love it - I want that button |

I see a new round of T-shirts. "Sine Die, MoFo!"
Only in Texas, the melting pot of language, can we mix old language with slang to describe the beast that is Texas Legislative politics. Mix in some Latin with Spanish with a few swear words, - perfect.
Sine Die, MoFo! y Sine Die, y Sine Die, y Sine Die (it keeps going and going)

Adios, and you can't leave fast enough.
My mom (the republican) said last night "I can't wait to get rid of all of them."

If you mom thinks they have to go, we've got a good chance. These repukes have been terrible at being in control. We need to get our message out that thinks were a lot better when we had the Democrats running the state.

8. I have to say, my mom's not a hard core right winger |
|
but she always votes republican (except Carter). I've opened her eyes to a lot, but I would classify her as slightly right of center. But she's disgusted with Perry. Really, I don't know anyone that's not disgusted with Perry.
Adios Mofo.
