I really want to go but my car is in bad shape right now. I'll help pay for gas.

1. Gloria there is a supply car going tomorrow
That's on Wednesday. I posted that to the other Cindy Sheehan thread. One of the United for Peace and Justice members is taking up supplies after the press conference. I just talked to her. Her name is Lisa Fithian. I don't know how long you want to stay but I can give you her number and you can call her if you want to work something out for Wednesday instead. PM me if you want the phone number.

Here is the post I put on the other Cindy Sheehan TX DU thread:

Wednesday, August 10, noon
SUPPORT CINDY SHEEHAN'S COURAGEOUS VIGIL!
Besides going to Crawford to support the action, and calling the White House and congresspeople, please attend a press conference/rally tomorrow. Come see people and supplies and donations off to Cindy Sheehan and the Crawford Peace house via local UFPJ organizer Lisa Fithian and Code Pink reps. If you are able, bring donated supplies, or bring signs & crosses demanding that President Bush talk with Cindy and the other Gold Star Families-that can be sent in cars going from the press conference. Afterward, we encourage you to try to speak with your legislators inside the Federal Building (see if you can make appts. prior) and convince them to urge President Bush to speak with Cindy Sheehan.
LOCATION: The Federal Building, 300 E Eighth St.

--FROM VETERANS FOR PEACE:
The Crawford Peace House, Code Pink, MFSO, VVAW, VFP and a host of
other organizations are working together to support Cindy Sheehan. Rain hasn’t turned folks away as Cindy has given us a once in a lifetime opportunity to get the pendulum moving toward a peaceful tomorrow...press all over the nation and the world are paying
attention. Take vacation, play hookie, run away from home...what ever
it takes...get in your cars and get to Crawford.

ITEMS NEEDED:
1: A camcorder to record any confrontations with authorities or
hecklers.
2: 30 people to help set up 1000 crosses and someone to take charge of this effort 3: Someone to help organize a
commemorative/interfaith service for Sunday
4: A BIG TENT say 8-10
feet wide and 15 feet long, other tents? (Mark your tents for return)
call Dick Underhill 512-799-9379 to arrange.

A second list, from CodePink:
Food and Water, Coffee, Tarps/canopy, Flashlights and Batteries, Wet
wipes, Bug spray, Ice chests/ Ice. Call Tiffany at (310) 836-8175 or
tiffany@codepinkalert.org to arrange.

FROM CODEPINK – AUSTIN----------
RELIABLE SOURCES NOW SAY: The Crawford Police or any other law
enforcement agency have not told Camp Casey that they have to leave by
Thursday. The "speculation" that they will call them a security risk
and have them arrested came from a reliable source, but not anyone in
law enforcement, one can also speculate that with this much (and
mounting) pressure and attention on them, they would be fool to do so.
Please do not be afraid to join this amazing group of women today,
tomorrow, or Thursday - OR BEYOND. They are preparing for a stand off
on Thursday based on experience and need all the support they can get.
THEY CAN’T ARREST 1,000 PEOPLE! In solidarity, CodePink Austin

2. thank you...looks like I'll need to make a Costco trip tonight
I wish they would pick a better place for the rally though...all the good parking spots are always taken. I wonder if there'll be a drop off area for the people bringing heavy items like water.

3. Gloria I'm sending you the number via PM
Gloria before you do a whole lot of shopping you may want to talk to Lisa first. I called her too and I have a couple of tents I'm sending their way. Anyway she does want the supplies to be brought to the press conference tomorrow. The reason for the location is that visits with Kay Bailey and John Cornyn's offices are being planned. They both have local offices in the Federal building. What you might do is just to a drive around and see if you can temporarily double park to drop off your supplies.

In any case check your inbox for Lisa's phone number. Call her first before you shop. They may have what they need in some areas.

thanks

Sonia
