THIS SUNDAY EVENING -- Aug 28 -- Carolyn will be at Camp Casey in Crawford, TX to support Cindy Sheehan. Ms. Sheehan has been seeking an audience with the vacationing president in Crawford after her son, Casey, gave his life in our current war. More info here and here .... IMPORTANT NOTE: The Peace House is where you will want to leave your vehicle. From there, they will shuttle you back and forth... The phone number at the Peace House is 254-486-0099....We will be leaving Austin early that afternoon, any parties wishing to caravan please e-mail Carolyn .... Bring water, sunscreen, duct tape, posterboard, markers, your bright smiling faces, and I'm sure they'd appreciate donations.

Here are directions from Austin to Crawford...I-35 North to Belton, Exit #293 A....LEFT on Hwy 317 North through Moody and McGregor to Crawford....in Crawford....RIGHT on 5th Street (aka Hwy 185) past RR tracks, Peace House is on the Left and pretty obvious.....IF nobody's home (this is unlikely)...go back West on Hwy 185 for 9 miles to Canaan Church Rd.

I have her CD but it does not do justice at all. She is so talented.
I heard her last year at Saxon for a benefit. Have seen her four times since then. Taken a bunch of other people over with me. They were all as awestruck as I am.

Wish I could go to Amsterdam in November. Plotting the trip to Crawford for this weekend. But there's also Jerry Garcia's birthday bash at the lake.

Decisions, decisions.

Have to admit I am torn between my own self gratification and what I feel. I envy all of you who have been to Camp Casey. I was too young to do much during the Viet Nam escape. But I watched. I KNOW. It was not Nixon that got us out of there. It was the Hippies.

I wanted to go this weekend anyway, but Carolyn is a big bonus. What a powerful voice from such a little gal. I've been enjoying her music since the early 90's in Houston.
