Report: Sheehan at DeLay's office in Houston
Quick Personal Note: For those who took their time to attend. THANK YOU! I know it was a sacrifice on your part and your attendance was GREATLY appreciated. The true patriots were on the street today! Pictures coming soon!

First the good news: With just days notice, we got 45 people to come out on a hot day at 3:00 in the afternoon to stand outside of DeLay's office to wait for Cindy Sheehan and the Gold Star Families. We had some great signs and two large American Flags waving in the wind. We looked GREAT!

Now the bad news: Because of delays in coming to Houston, Cindy's bus went to the office in Stafford instead and was not able to come to the Clear Lake event. It didn't dampen the spirits of those who came. We stayed for at least 1.5 hours. It was super. Anyone else would have left, but not us! You guys were WONDERFUL!

Mike Fjetland. Mike Fjetland who ran as an independent against DeLay last year was there. He is running against DeLay in the primary. Mike is one of those republicans who we can actually talk with, although we disagree on many issues, but at the very least the communication is open. We can carry on a conversation. He was very cordial and greeting those who worked the Morrison campaign.

Galveston County Republican Chair: If you wanted to see the face of the republican party, the face was here. His name was Chris Stevens and he was the Chairman of the Galveston County Republican Party. Let me just say if any Democratic Chairman acted like this man did, he would not be the chair by morning. Stevens made a complete and total jackass of himself. It was embarrassing to watch and listen to him. Not being one to back down from a confrontation, I even was embarrassed watching him implode and quit talking with him. Needless to say, even the republicans that we could approach and at least carry on a semi decent discussion with was annoyed by his behaviour. Stevens acted like a spoiled rotten child, repeating lopsided questions to our members and picking fights with the oldest members of the crowd. He was just a complete and total jackass, and yet tried to be friendly when it was all over. Stevens was truly a great representation of the republican party. In the words of George W. Bush, he was a major league asshole.

Media Coverage: We had the Galveston Daily News, the Chronicle, CH 26, and KPTF covering. We had some great interviews with all the media. I believe there will be followups on this.

The Rally: Tom DeLay's staff called out their goon squad. We were greeted with about 50 of delay "protest warriors" who had some of the most sickest signs I have ever seen. The "protest warriors" were greeted with open arms by the security staff at delays office, yet when we protest, they threaten to tow our cars from the parking lot. It didn't matter. The fact that they were there showed they are worried about a little lady named Cindy. Whoever tipped them off to this event, did us a GREAT favor. In fact I intend to invite them to our fundraiser on the 15th!!!

The signs. delays goons had some pretty sick signs. AL QUEDA SUPPORTS CINDY. QUIT CRYING CINDY. Were just a few examples. Of course they had DeLay signs, which seemed pretty stupid to have in the first place, but then again, they are republicans. These people are sick. They were mean. They were nasty. Some even smelled. (Really) These are sick sick people. I know many republicans personally, but these were not republicans. They were sick individuals. I pity them. (Well, no I don't. Let them rot in hell.)

The police. Webster police are nice guys. Did real well, although they should have moved the goons away from our positions.
