He's done it before. Now, Willie Nelson is planning another relief concert for victims of natural disaster.

Willie headlined a show at Austin Music Hall in January to raise money for people hit by the South Asian Tsunami. Now, he'll help out victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Legendary blues club owner Clifford Antone also is involved in the concert, which is slated to be on Sept. 21 at the Erwin Center, just two days before the Austin City Limits Music Festival.

1. One question
Has there ever been concert conducted for and in front of victims?

I just think that all this attention at money raising, which wonderful and helpful, but a concert that entertains and lifts the spirits of those affected. You know, make the people in the Convention Center see the positive side of wearing those wristbands??? Just a thought. Maybe something is in the works.

2. I've heard about a lot of planning but I haven't seen anything yet
I agree that's a great idea melissinha. I know that entertainment is a needed relief. I bet that both of these shows would allow evacuees in for free. Both are easily accessible via mass transit.

I also contacted the Alamo theater and asked that they consider doing their movies in the park like they did this summer at Republic Park on some evenings. They have a large inflatable screen that they can use for this. Republic Park at 4th and Guadalupe is walking distance from the convention center.
