Rita - Katrina next season get better names |
|
I don't know about you, but living on the Gulf Coast, with my mind flying a hundred different ways lately, I could use more distinct names.
With all the talk in Houston about Katrina evacuees, FEMA reporting sites, Red Cross reporting sites, shelters, evacuation instructions and now a whole new set of everything using the name Rita, with Katrina still a major issue here. Geeez!!
Maybe I'm suffering from some Dubya form of dyslexia. I can sort it when I see it written (maybe because of the length of the words), but when I have to process what I hear on TV, I have to stop and mentally sort.
Next season, I say no names that aren't VERY distinct from each other and no rhyming names, either. Cause when these hurricanes start hitting so close to each other, both time wise and geographically and people are flying around trying to make decisions, while listening to media talking about both and comparing them, damn it, Kathleen and Rachel would have been so much easier on my nerves.

3. I'd prefer them to be named after the incompetents who failed to answer |
|
the call when citizens cried out in need: George, Rummy, Dick, Condi, Fritzie, Dennis....
The GOP wreaks such destruction, may as well give them credit where credit is due....
