I hope they cut each other to pieces!

Former Sessions aide seeks to oust Edwards

By Dan Genz Tribune-Herald staff writer

Saturday, October 01, 2005

Former congressional aide Tucker Anderson launched a bid for Congress Friday night, telling about 35 Republicans at a backyard barbecue event in Woodway that he has the political skills and conservative ideas to compete with eight-term incumbent Chet Edwards, D-Waco, in 2006.

“I hope my experience and my roots will propel me to have the courage to debate toe-to-toe with Chet Edwards, who is ultimately standing in the way of the values we hold in this district,” said Anderson, 34.

A Calvert attorney, rancher and amateur pilot, Anderson left his post as legislative director for U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Dallas, in Washington, D.C., to return to his Robertson County hometown to run a race anchored in the theme of improving economic development across the region.

“We are kicking off a campaign that will take us far and wide,” Anderson said during a brief speech. “We're going to weave together a Republican network that can elect a Republican in this 17th Congressional District.”

With the March primary still more than five months away, Anderson is running against decorated military veterans Marine Maj. Van Taylor, a businessman who recently moved to West, and Texas National Guard Lt. Col. Bentley Nettles, a College Station attorney.

1. Can't they just leave him alone?
They keep running people against him and the outcome is always the same, even after they jimmied the district boundaries.

I swear the Republicans in this state will not be satisfied until Texas is just like the old Soviet Union: an absolute one party state with no dissent permitted.
