As ya'll will see from this google cached link, it wasn't all that long ago that Kinky joyfully welcomed Dick DeGuerin to his campaign. Of course, as we know from the news, DeGuerin is rapidly becoming better known for defending Tom "JohnCoby's Bitch" DeLay.
Kinky Friedman Welcomes Houston Attorney Dick DeGuerin as Campaign Advisor:
AUSTIN, Texas – August 8, 2005 – Gubernatorial candidate Kinky Friedman today announced that Dick DeGuerin, one of Texas’ top defense attorneys, will join the campaign as a staff advisor.
“The polarization of politics today has left our state lacking any real leadership,” said DeGuerin, who is perhaps best known for representing Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison in the early 1990s.
“We’re thrilled to have someone of Mr. DeGuerin’s stature join our crusade to bring decency and honesty back to the state,” said campaign director Dean Barkley. “The presence of such a well-known civic leader on our campaign is a huge step toward developing a coalition of Democrats, Republicans and Independents. We welcome him aboard.”
DeGuerin believes Friedman’s fresh perspective and common-sense ideas will resonate with disillusioned voters in Texas.

The interesting thing is that what, only 2 months later, there is no trace, as far as I can tell, of the aforesaid press release to be found on Kinky's website. Look and find it if you can.... here's a link to the current "news" page.
http://www.kinkyfriedman.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=category§ionid=8&id=15&Itemid=27Now, I wonder what happened? I have to admit, I thought less of Mr. Friedman when I found out that "Tricky" Dick DeGuerin was in the mix. Did DeGuerin just get busy, or did Kinky toss his ass out the door?
The "scrubbing" of the website suggests that the parting was not on amicable terms and that Kinky wishes to dissasociate himself from Mr. DeGuerin ... but Google remembers everything, now doesn't it?
