TX Republican Congressman Brady arrested for DUI

If convicted of the misdemeanor charge, Brady faces up to $1,000 fine and a year in jail. A typical penalty for a first offense is $300 to $400, Howe said.

Brady was in East Texas Monday and could not be reached for comment, said Sarah Stephens, a spokeswoman for Brady.

Brady attended meetings with residents in Jasper, Newton, Deweyville and Buna on Monday to discuss hurricane recovery. He plans to visit Orange, Vidor, Kountze and Woodville today.

At first I thought this arrest was in East Texas but I see now that it was in S. Dakota over the weekend. So he had already been arrested and released by the time he came back to Texas to visit with constituents while under the "protection" of Kevlar.

This creep is really pathetic. I say he doesn't have the backbone to be a real representative of the people. Any other average guy from the area gets arrested, and he probably loses his job. So shouldn't Brady?
